Andy Marchant’s passion for food started with his family’s wholesale produce business. Being around fresh foods at an early age led him to appreciate quality ingredients which always inspired great meals. With a culinary career spanning over 35 years, Chef Andy has worked in the best restaurants of Charleston SC, The Park Hotel in Charlotte NC, and eventually opening The Restaurant at Cinnamon Hill in 1988. After eleven years of owning his own restaurant, Marchant would become the executive chef for Tronco’s Catering, the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion and many other professional kitchens. After 8 years serving as the Director of Culinary Services for Still Hopes Retirement Community, Andy was inspired to return to his roots in the kitchen. In early 2022, the chef decided to bring back the concept of his former restaurant, Cinnamon Hill, by founding Cinnamon Hill Kitchen. Andy married Rhonda Ralston in 1993 and is the proud dad to three children, Aulston, Dillon and Mary Elle.
For eleven years, between 1988 to 1999, Restaurant at Cinnamon Hill of Lexington was the go-to restaurant for special occasions, celebrations, corporate events and family get togethers. Today, Cinnamon Hill Kitchen is proud to bring back old restaurant favorites blended with new recipes inspired by Chef Andy’s culinary journey. His experience in his own restaurant, corporate catering, four-star hotels and the South Carolina Governor’s Mansion have all contributed to the passionate creation of a new culinary concept here in Lexington.
